Car Servicing Singapore

Frequently servicing of your car can have the effect between it running easily and better fuel efficiency, as well as reducing the risk of bringing about a costly and unforeseen repair. It can be a false economy to maintain a strategic distance from general car servicing, since expected wear and tear with minor upkeep, can quick turn into an exorbitant real repair work.

The administration plan for your vehicle will rely on upon the producer and furthermore rely on upon the car’s mileage and age.

To keep your car running at peak efficiency and extend the life of your car, there are several car maintenance measures that you should routinely undertake. Therefore, refer to your owners manual and take your car to an auto service facility at the suggested intervals to have it checked out by a certified mechanic like us. Our Car Servicing include 21 points check and we are also expert at car aircons and tyres. Please read the below to understand more.

1. Car Air-Con Servicing/Maintenance

FLUSHING REMOVES OIL & CONTAMINANTS

Flushing is the best way to get old oil and any solid contaminants out of the components of an automotive air conditioner. Flushing is the only way to really get the majority of oil, debris and contamination out of the system.

The air con flushing process can be done using our air con flushing equipment to flush the air conditioning system for the car. Our equipment effectively flushes impurities from the air con coil. If the impurities are left in the air con system, they can cause any kinds of problems including the compressor valves damage. By doing air con flushing, the potential problem can be eliminating. This will greatly improve the efficiency of the air con system, thus improving the car fuel consumption.

Sludge is usually the result of moisture-contamination. If sludge and debris are left in the system, clogs the orifice tube/expansion valve. Flushing can help prevent to prevent compressor failures and system blockages by dislodging and cleaning out sludge and debris.

The air con flushing process is a very effective method to eliminate sludge and other contaminants from the air conditioning system.

Due to the fact that moisture is collected internally, it leads to the growth of fungus and bacteria in the system over time. The presence of such micro-organisms in the ducts is what produces that nasty smell every time the air-con system is switched on. Apart from its offensive smell, in severe cases, these bacteria can even lead to infections of the ear, nose and throat of passengers or what some refer to as “sick car syndrome”.

Coupled along with our Air-Con Flushing system, we use various products to protect and maintain your air-con system.

At TS Auto, we ensure that your car aircon gets flushed efficiently, keeping your car aircon cold and clean.

2. Wheel Balancing

Wheel Balancing, on the other hand allows the tires and wheels to spin without causing any vibrations. This is accomplished by checking for any heavy spots on the wheel-tire combination and compensating for it by placing a measured lead weight on the opposite site of the wheel from where the heavy spot is.

Out-of-balance tires will cause a car to vibrate at certain speeds, usually between 50 and 70 mph. A tireis out of balance when one section of the tire is heavier than the others. One ounce of imbalance on a front tire is enough to cause a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at about 60mph. To balance a wheel, the technician will mount it on a balancing machine which spins the wheel to locate the heavier part. He will then compensate for the heavy part by attaching a lead weight on the opposite side. Many people are pleasantly surprised at how smooth their car drives after balancing all four wheels.

Most high quality tires will hold their balance fairly well and go out of balance very gradually. If you notice a vibration that wasn’t there the day before, it is possible thatone of the lead balancing weights fell off. If you feel the vibration mostly in the steering wheel, the problem is most likely in a front wheel. If the vibration is mostly in the seat, the problem is probably in the rear.

The symptoms of a wheel that is out of balance are:

-Vibration in the steering wheel at certain highway speeds. -Vibration in the seat or floorboard at certain highway speeds. -Scalloped or cupped wear pattern on the tires

Vibration in cars and light trucks occurs for many reasons. Common reasons are poor wheel balance, imperfect tire or wheel shape, brake pulsation, and worn or loose driveline, suspension, or steering components. Occasionally and rarely, one will find foreign material stuck in tire’s tread causing vibration e.g. road tar in summer.

If you find that your steering ‘wobbles’ above a certain speed, this may be a sign that your wheels are not balanced properly. If left, this can not only be uncomfortable to drive, but may affect the performance of your vehicles:

-Road holding and handling characteristics -Fuel economy -Suspension and steering components -Tyres against uneven and increased wear

Wheels that are not balanced or are out of balance generally produce a vibration that is uncomfortable to drive in and results in premature wearing of suspension and steering components, rotating parts and tyres.

Correctly balanced wheels help to eliminate vibration and avoid premature wear caused by an imbalance in the rotating wheel and tyre assembly.

You should also have your wheels checked or balanced after an impact such as a kerb, pothole or stone, when a tyre looks abnormal or every 10,000 km.

At TS Auto, as a result of wheel balancing, you should notice a smoother ride and better wear from your tyres, again saving you time and money.

3. Tyre rotation

Tyre rotation or rotating tyres is the practice of moving automobile wheels and tires from one position on the car, to another, to ensure even tyre wear. Tyre wear is uneven for any number of reasons. Even tyre wear is desirable to maintain consistent performance in the vehicle and to extend the overall life of a set of tyres.

By design, the weight on the front and rear axles differs which causes uneven wear. With the majority of cars being front-engine cars, the front axle typically bears more of the weight. For rear wheel drive vehicles, the weight distribution between front and back approaches 50:50. Front wheel drive vehicles also have the differential in front, adding to the weight, with a typical weight distribution of no better than 60:40. This means, all else being equal, the front tires wear out at almost twice the rate of the rear wheels, especially when factoring the additional stress that braking puts on the front tires. Thus, tyre rotation needs to occur more frequently for front-wheel drive vehicles.

Tyre rotation is vital to achieving even tread wear and long tread life. Rotation is necessary because of the uneven wear characteristics of each wheel position on the vehicle.Tyre rotation for these vehicles therefore becomes very important for optimum tyre life.

With four wheel drive vehicles, rotation of tyres is much more important and all four tyres, ideally, should be replaced at the same time. So, location should not be an issue. If it is, the same rule applies, newer tyres to the rear.

At TS Auto, tyre rotation can be done swiftly and without hassle.
